Happy Mabo Day for Thursday June 3.
We celebrate the huge and valiant struggles of Torres Strait Islander Eddie Mabo (and his mob and supporters) towards native title in Australia. I photographed this sign - and the sculpture in honour of him seen in the entry below - when I was in Townsville in May to tell stories.
I also had the privelege of telling stories at a school where some of Eddie's young descendants attended.
